What do we need:
The primary focus of the Maintenance Associate position is the general maintenance of the interior and exterior of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Performs general maintenance of the building and equipment.
- Maintains the general cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the building including, but not limited to; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows, emptying trashes and cleaning restrooms.
- Assists in the daily laundering of guest linens and towels.
- Cleans empty and dirty rooms when needed.
- Leads volunteers and contracted temporary workers.
- Applies lessons learned in Trauma Informed Care trainings into daily interactions with guests.
- Ability to be on call in times of need.
- Perform general maintenance task as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist in driving the box truck for donation pick-ups when needed.
- Assist in meal service when necessary.
- Performs maintenance duties at multiple People Serving People locations as assigned. While the employee will have a primary work site, daily assignments may vary based on operational needs.
- Operates company vehicles, including a refrigerated box truck, for transportation of supplies, equipment, and donations as needed.
- Assists the Housekeeping Department with daily operational needs when assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support Facilities and organizational operations.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise volunteers, as needed.
Pay and Benefits:
- $25.00 per hour
- Full-Time, Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements:
- Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Education Preferred: Vocational school certificate in plumbing, electricity, building maintenance, or housekeeping desired.
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills, including ability to check email.
Other Qualifications:
- One-year experience in the Facilities field.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Health Card) within 30 days of hire. People Serving People will cover the cost.
- Must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including a refrigerated box truck.
- Boiler's license preferred. If not currently licensed, the selected candidate must be willing to obtain the required boiler's license, with training and licensing expenses paid by People Serving People.
- Must have dependable transportation during on-call period.
- Experience with equipment maintenance, electrical, plumbing or other skilled trade desired.
- Experience working in residential properties desired.
- Physical ability for high mobility to be able to stand and move throughout 8-hour shift.
- Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Experience working with homeless families and/or individuals preferred.
- Authorized to operate the variety of company vehicles
